Yakima HighRoller Rooftop Upright Bike Rack Upright rooftop bike mount with sleek automotive-style paint finish ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. The quest for available vehicle storage space is a dilemma of the serious recreationalist. Management and utilization is the key. Yakima designs the tools to meet the needs. The HighRoller Rooftop Upright Bike Rack not only makes setting the bike in place easy, it provides security. How’s that for a product plug !? The standard mounts that come with the High Roller will not fit on newer Subaru racks (Subaru’s new factory racks – which many Subarus now come equipped with), yet I was told by a Yakima rep they would. No way did they fit. I called again, and another rep told me I had to by Yakima’s Universal Mighty Mounts to enable the High Roller to be installed on my Subaru racks. I was assured the Mighty Mounts would be an easy install w/ my racks and the High roller. Nope. Doubt the rep has ever tried to install the Mighty Mounts. Hired someone at a local pro shop to install them after I had trouble, and even he had a lot of trouble (A LOT!), especially since you have to intall them backwards so the High Roller doesn’t interfere with the Subaru hatch-back. Then I got conflicting info from the manual AND from a Yakima rep about what the weight limit is for the High Roller. Apparently, when installed with the Might Mounts, the weight limit is 30 pounds. An awful lot of bikes weigh more than 30 po Just started mountain biking and wanted to make sure my bike was safe on the roof High Roller is the way to go I purchased two of these racks from my coworker several months ago. He had them mounted on a PT Cruizer which suffered major hail damage and he transitioned to a pickup so no longer needed them. I have a 2003 Subaru Forester with factory roof rack. With his help, we’ve installed one of the two using the Universal Mighty Mounts (with included A-size clamp)– requires 3 of the set of 4 mounts. This past week was the first opportunity I used the rack to carry bikes. Worked well, with a little sway due to the Subaru cross rack flexing some. I was also driving with a pretty good crosswind (gusts up to 32 mph). I am of small stature (5’5″) so I have to use a step stool to put the bike up. I also tend to forget and leave the rear wheel sprocket strap on top of the car after removing the bike; bungee cord seems to work okay if necessary. Bikes carried so far are small 2011 Giant Cypress ST (girls) and small Trek Mountain Track bike (boys), so I hope I’m not exceeding the weight limi
