Wald 5.25 Inch Rise MTB Handle Bar Chrome 27.1 – Reviews

For some reasons I stopped racing on my 26″ top of the line mountain bike (all XTR components).

I bought this handle bar as a replacement for my XC Monkey Lite carbon bar.

Now, I can ride my bike on the streets and parks really enjoying the ride (my back relaxes so much)…:)

It would be nice to get similar handle bar made of carbon (to cut extra weight), but it’s not there yet.. may be one day.

Anyway, no regrets: the product is one of the best on the market. You will not regret buying it at this price!

I’m a recreational bike rider, these bars are perfect for someone who wants to sit up straight on their bike. I can now ride my bike without back pain, or having my arms fall asleep.

These handlebars did the trick — they were just higher enough so that I didn’t have to bend at the hips too much; additionally, I was able to take some of the pressure off my hands because I was putting less weight on them. Hard to believe such a small adjustment would have such a payoff — plus, they’re very inexpensive.

These bars might just be the ticket to save your back. They have a nice high rise and aren’t too heavy like many steel bars. The price is right compared to alloy high-dollar bars and they are also nice and stiff unlike many alloy bars which feel bendy to me.

The only issue I have is that they are a bit wide for my tastes.

If you don’t live in the city and do a lot of commuting where you are passing cars stuck in traffic and riding between them then it isn’t a problem. For me, with these bars at at 27″, there are many gaps in the road you just CAN’T shoot.

I cut almost 2″ off of each end on my bars which was all that can possibly be taken off without putting the brake perches into the curvy part of the bar where they just can’t grip or sit straight. It depends on how big your brake perches are (Mine are heavy-duty motorcycle MX-style DiaCompe lever perches that need a lot of room and the levers are full-sized MX-type that stick out more than many newer MTB brake levers). If you have integrated brake/shifters they might take up more room so that you can’t cut more than an inch off of them. Just be aware of this. There are other bends that start earlier which might help to allow for more narrowness.
