I just love the bag. I also have the interchangeable basket. I use them both all the time.
They are so well made and easy to use.

With it you can carry all the stuff you need for a short trip, no more than two or three days. Ataches very easily in the Topeak Explorer Bike Rack sliding into it, or you can atach it to diferent racks with the velcro straps.

Taking out the side bags you have more room, also the main compartment expands like 3 o 4 inches

A little heavy but a lof of room also an outside pocket for an extra water bottle.
Reflective stripes and a place to atach a rear red light.

Good construction in general and resistant materials.

Remember, if you have this in your rear rack you don’t have room for the sleeping bag or air matress, in order to carry them you need to have a frontal rack.

I got this bag primarily for bike commuting to work. Previously I had been using a backpack but Texas summers are brutal and I’ll take all the ventilation I can. It’s hooked up to one of the purpose built MTX compatible racks which I got at the same time.

I was a bit skeptical at first but after a little use I have really come to like it.

Feature wise it’s quite nice from top to bottom.
At the top it has a double strap handle with a cushy neoprene grip. It can come undone to give you full access to top. On the top is a mesh pocket and elastic strip. The pocket is good for wallets, keys and such. The strap can be used to sych down jackets or shirts. Though you might have to undo the handle to access it right.

Going down the bag you have double zipper that opens to the main compartment. Not water tight so if your planning on going in the rain consider a cover (Topeak makes custom covers).

The Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP works well for my work commute. It holds all items securely and keeps items dry even in rain. I would recommend for work commutes or day long rides.
