Well, I thought it was going to work, but then I put it on with my winter riding hat under the helmet. I could not get it adjusted into my field of view. The arm just didn’t move down enough. When I thought I would try it for my summer helmet, the Velcro came off the helmet instead of the Velcro strips coming apart, so the mount didn’t seem very durable. The arm seems like a cheap plastic, so I questioned the durability anyway.

I think I’ll be returning this.

There is a major flaw for a helmet mirror when riding on a road bike. In the normal riding position, your shoulder will block the mirror’s view behind you. You will need to lift your head up to look behind you. Even in that awkward position, there is only a small window. The mirror will not stay adjusted. On my only ride, I had to stop several times to adjust the mirror. In the end, I returned it. Amazon was great in handling the return.

I’ve used these mirrors on three different helmets over four years and have been extremely happy with them. I’m unsure if the earlier reviewers mounted it correctly. A very secure velcro type pad attaches to the outside of the helmet (not the inside) and then the mirror assembly can be attached or detached very easily. The plastic or rubber velcro type attachment is very secure, both in its attachment to the helmet and for attaching the mirror assembly, and I’ve never had one come loose. The instructions for attachment that come with the product are very clear and understandable. The only thing I’ve noticed on the negative side, and it is a very small thing, is that occasionally I need to readjust the mirror if I’m riding somewhere bumpy or with a lot of vibration. That is very easy and can be done in a second or two while riding – just reach up and adjust the mirror so that your ear is reflected along the very right edge of it.
