I purchased 2 Rear Folding Bicycle Baskets and Installed them on my XR200 Mongoose Mountain Bike. They have plenty of storage, when you need it but easily fold up while not in use. I really like them. I’m glad that I purchased this item at Amazon.

I took the advise of previous posters and:
1. ignored the instructions and used screw driven hose clamps.
2. used bungees when in use to secure items and reinforce the bottom
A key advantage the use of hose clamps is permitting placing the baskets lower. This put the center of gravity at a much more comfortable level. I also carry a computer, and used bungees to hold it snug to the inside of the basket — again, center of gravity matters for the ride. Presently, I am doing my 5 mile commute with a good deal of weight off my back. I carry my computer, change of clothes, dress shoes datebook and things have been real smooth.

I had a folding basket on my previous bike and loved it, so I was very much looking forward to having two, one for each side, on my new bike. The baskets themselves are as advertised — study, functional, and compact. The only negative is that the hardware that comes with the baskets for attaching to the bike rack are terrible. The hardware needs to accommodate different sized frames for easier attachment. My husband did the grunt work for me but, at a certain point, he was ready to take my whole bike and park it in the dumpster — he got that mad during the installation! He finally bent the hardware enough to make everything snug and tight so it all worked out, but not without a lot of patience and impromptu manipulation.
