Sunlite Bicycle Alloy Springer Rear Rack (Black) – Reviews
The screws provided to attach it were one quarter inch too short. I had to go the the hardware store and replace them with longer ones. I finally got it attached and it works well. The spring loaded arms make it quite ueseful for carying small packages.

I ordered this Sunlite Bicycle Alloy Springer Rear Rack through Amazon some time ago to carry thins on the back of the mountain bike. The rack has proven excellent for carrying things that weigh up to about 20 lbs but then I don’t think anyone would want to carry things that are too heavy in the rear rack anyway.

I was looking for a rack that would attach to my atypical bike. The bike has a post (where seat is attached) that does not extend all the way down as it does on most bikes. It is one of those bikes with a “suspension” spring that supposedly acts as a shock absorber. When I saw the image of the product it looked like it might fit. I took a chance that it would. None of the supplied attachements worked, but I ran down to the local hardware store and picked up a U clamp for about a buck. The clamp needed a little bending to fit around the seat post and align with the attachment holes on the rack. I use a drill to enlarge the holes on the rack so the clamp would fit. With that I was able to attach the rack to the bike. The rack is what I wanted. I ride my bike to the gym and occassionally pick up a few things at the store on my return. The rack holds down my full back pack. I have since seen racks that attach to the seat post and do not have the support bars that extend to the wheel. They look like they would have been easier to attach, but without the additional support bars, they seem like they might not be as sturdy in carrying a load. They also have bungie cords as opposed to the spring loaded catch. All in all I am very satisfied with the rack.
