Plastic parts fit poorly. Instructions need magnifying glass to clearly determine order of assembly of upper brackets (part H). I put the wrong bracket on first and could not remove it to correct. Used a hammer. Cheap plastic part inside clamp broke. Called manufacturer to replace part and was told it was my fault (which it probably was) and only thing they would do is send me a complete new clamp and hook to hold top of bike, all for $30, plus shipping I assume. There are six clamps with plastic inserts. Warning, remove metal casing around plastic part inside clamps, assemble plastic around square tube then put metal casing back on. This was the only way I was able to assemble. Figured it out too late. Really mad about the manufacturer’s attitude. I know the plastic adapter for 2 inch hitch will stink too. This is my first review of a product.

I love this rack. You don’t have to struggle trying to fit your bike (or bikes) on two poles. Easy on, easy off. And the rack holds the bike(s) very securely. One very, very important thing to remember with this rack; make sure you insert the locking pin that holds the verticle bar in the upright position. If you forget to do this your beloved bike will be securely dragged to death.

This is a replacement for the same rack that was wrecked when someone hit me from the rear. It is perfect for my heavy electric hybrid bike. Gladly, the bike wasn’t on it during the accident. The good person who hit me paid for a new one. So I bought the same one again. Salvaged a few spare parts from the wreckage. Happy.

I’ve used this rack on one long road trip and several weekender trips including a bit of offroading. The rack works great and keeps the bikes secure even over rough terrain. The bolt-style hitch pin may seem like a pain but it contributes alot to this stability- without it you’d need to add a separate stabilizer to get the same level of support for the bikes. For security I just run a cable lock thru the safety chain loop on my hitch- no need for for a locking hitch pin. My only gripe is that I can’t open the hatch on my SUV- but hey, I didn’t have to pay $350 either so I still give it 5 stars.
