I bought this as a present. To be used in an apartment. Holds road and mountain bike. It was assembled by female friend and put in place. She said it went up ok but for some small issue that I haven’t had time to look at. But it works and both bikes are now off the floor. Because of its lightness, durability was a question which will have to be answered over time.

In general, similar racks are held in place by pushing them against the ceiling and floor. I suspect it would be a good idea to place some sort of protection over the carpet or flooring and also the ceiling. Perhaps a square of plywood both top and bottom would keep from damaging the carpet as well as rubbing the ceiling material. Just a suggestion.

There is another DUAL BIKE RACK made by the SAME Spare Hands Company and AMAZON is using the SAME picture for both racks. One is $54 with 7 comments and the other is $59 with over 20 reviews. It looks like they are the SAME RACK being sold through Amazon by 2 different companies for 2 different prices. Called Amazon and rep could not confirm or deny any differences. I am going with the $59 bike rack simply because it has better reviews.

This bike rack is very sturdy. It is easy to put together. And, most importantly it is stable and holds 2 bikes perfectly. I ordered 2 originally and just ordered a 3rd for a relative as a gift as he liked mine.

It does everything it claims. I have 2 big bike on it, and it holds it really well.

This product will fit in anywhere. I happen to have it in my 100sq ft bedroom and it works great.
