Soma Fabrications Morning Rush Bicycle Coffee Holder 14605 – Reviews
It is a very solid mug and it looks sweet. Problem is not the holder, but the mug itself. The lid does not keep the coffee in the cup at all. I have no idea if there is a difference between cold and hot drinks in terms of why testing a new cap would work fine with cool water, but fail miserably with hot coffee. I had it on the bike and ended up wearing more coffee than was left in the mug. Lid was screwed down tightly, and even when slide opening was closed as tightly as possible, the coffee came splashing out only in slightly less volume than if the lid was not on at all. I even changed the lid to a new one. No change at all. I went on a walk with it tonight and it couldn’t even keep the coffee in then, let alone actually riding on (semi) smooth roads. Don’t waste your money, or if you do, change the lid immediately. Get one of the ones with the flip-up cap for the opening. But it’s a shame to spend $40 on it only to change another thing before ever actually using it.

Cup leaks like a sieve. Spent alot of money for a bracket i can only use with a better quality cup i bought separately. Jusy buy or make a bracket elsewhere and put your own mug in it. not worth the money

I echo the two other listed reviews. This is a clever idea. I love my bike. I love my coffee. Put those two together= pure awesomeness. However, Soma charges a hefty price for the ring and the travel mug together and the bottom line is that the travel mug just doesn’t work. The top can never be truly secured so not only does your coffee go cold, it *spills* when you are riding. Ridiculous. I now use my own travel mug in the ring & life is joyous, but for this price– Soma should be putting out a product that is far better crafted. Look for a bike ring holder elsewhere.
