Saris Sentinel 3 Bike Trunk Mount Rack – Reviews
The bike rack works really well with our Cavalier, not so great with our Suburban. We used it the day it arrived with two bikes on the back of a Suburban and it held for the few miles we needed to travel, but would have fallen off if we had further to go. The back wiper blade assembly was in the way of mounting the rack correctly. The rack does work great on the smaller car with a trunk!

the bike rack is easy to use, it seems a little cheaply made but for the price it deffly a good buy.

Purchased the Saris Sentinel 3-bike trunk rack to transport my son’s bikes (one SS getting-around-campus machine, one road racing bike) from Texas to the west coast for college. Rack worked great — stable, secure, essentially noise-free when under load. Three minor points of caution: follow mounting instructions to the letter; check strap tightness every time you stop and cinch up any slack (only one strap needed tightening in 1400 miles); be careful when you take the rack off the car — condensation accumulated in the hollow steel rack arms on the trip. When I lifted the rack off the back of the car, rusty water poured out of the weep holes in the rack, splattering my new running shoes, which was annoying. Still, a well-designed rack that I would gladly recommend.

This rack is easy to put on the car. We traveled about 600 miles with 2 bikes on the rack. The 2 bottom straps tend to loosen up a bit after putting the bikes on, so it’s a good idea to check on them when making stops. We also used some bungie cords for some extra security to keep the bikes attached to the rack. We had no problems with the rack or the bikes moving around. Overall, a good product for the price.
