Planet Bike new generation floor pumps have a stronger gauge system and are re-build able. Dual head works on both Presta and Schrader valves. ALX and STX are now 3-Inch taller and use spring at bottom of stroke for a smooth feel. ALX uses a special lightweight polished aluminum barrel. STX uses a steel barrel, plunger and base. Comp uses super-tough composite construction.

I have to say – it took me about 10 mins to figure out how to get this to work on my presto valves – and here’s the answer. Just plug this into the presto socket, raise the lever (counter-intuitive) and then pump like you mean it. After one pump or so it “detects” that you are using the presto socket and then transferes the air to fill your tires. A little bit of a learning curve but now it’s great.
It is make with really sturdy materials – great price AND high quality!

I purchased this pump to fill tires with a Presta valve (the thin one). It does not work good at all. The air leaks out around the valve when you clamp it on. You have to pump very fast and take it off quickly or you will end up with less air pressure than when you started. I may have to go back to using an adapter for a Schrader valve.

Good value for a pump, esp with free shipping. Handle has good ergonomic design and pressure gauge is a big plus.
