I generally like Pearl Izumi products, but their arm warmers just don’t cut it. I had a discount coupon for a PI outlet last year, so thought I’d give the Thermals a try after having switched to DeFeet armskins years ago. Maybe, I thought, PI has fixed the fit issues with its arm/leg warmers.

No such luck. Like the several other pairs of PI arm warmers I owned in the past, these ones also reliably fail to stay up around my upper arms. That gap between my jersey sleeve and the top of the arm warmer is just maddening.

The material of the Thermals is nice, and they’re certainly warm, but I think I’m giving up on PI arm warmers for good. Unlike PI arm warmers, DeFeet armskins are constructed of elastic material throughout, which means that they don’t rely completely upon a band of elastic at the top to keep them from slipping down. They pretty much cling to the length of your arm, with zero slipping.

So if you ride a lot and need arm warmers that won’t annoy you with poor fit/slippage

I bought a white/medium to keep warm at my place of work. Sometimes the temperature would fluctuates, and I didn’t want to be stuck with a long-sleeve shirt if it got warmer during the afternoon.

The iZUMi Arm Warmer is very comfortable, and does its job of keeping my arms warm. I am 5’9″ with a waistline of 34-inches, and slightly muscular arms. The medium was the perfect size for me, albeit tight for a few days.

Within a week’s time of wearing them, I had 4 co-workers ask me to purchase them iZUMi Arm Warmers as well. They are stylish and does what it’s suppose to.

It has now been a month since I originally bought my own, and 3 additional co-workers have asked me to purchase these arm warmers for them.

Just finished a 60 mile road ride this weekend, started the day and it was 40 degrees, ended the day and it was 75 degrees. These arm warmers were perfect for this type of ride to stay warm at the start, take them off and be cool at the end.
They stayed up perfectly and I never had to wear about them sliding down or coming off.

The arm warmers are perfect for early morning California weather and keep me warm, sometimes warmer than my core. They do slip sometimes but only if I don’t tuck them properly over my bike jersey.
