I’ve never worn spandex before but after riding my bike to and from work, my “area” is always sore. I decided to get these based on the great reviews here and as always amazon reviews never disappoint me.

I ride commando in these and they’re really comfortable, the pad covers all the appropriate areas.

Good shorts, They are what I expected for the price, they are comfortable and they get the job done. The Cami does get a little smashed on long rides but that is expected. For the price these are great shorts if you are a cyclist who likes to ride 20-50 miles at a time. If you are thinking of doing longer rides than you may want to upgrade to the P.R.O. series or Elite from Peral Izumi instead.

Done a few rides already (MTB) and am loving these. Fit is great, and quality is as well, especially for $40. I’m a 33ish waist and the Medium works great. I’ve found my new shorts for the foreseeable future.

My Perl Izumi shorts measure 16×6 inches giving lots of protection over a wide area. The padding goes down your leg a bit thus preventing pinching of sensitive structures that occurs with narrow padding. I bought a pair of tri shorts measuring 10×2.5 inches which begin to pinch after an hour or two. Small areas may work well for sprint triathelons but if you plan on hours of cycling then the larger size seems necessary.
