Pearl iZUMi Mens P.R.O. Cycling ShortBlackLarge – Reviews
Bought in 2008 and love them. I train 5-7 days/10-20 hours per week. I race 50 and 100 mile MTB races and have never had a problem. With any shorts get some Butt Butter to prevent chaffing for extended rides. Other cheaper shorts lasted 6 months. These, 4 years. They’ve been washed hundreds of times. The chamois is super comfy and the stitching has never failed or frayed. Don’t think about it, buy em.
Friar Tuck
I just started road biking and from all my past experience with a bike I knew that my sitter would be hating life. The only reason I wanted to start biking was so I could triathlon. I bought these based on a recommendation, and first 2 days on the bike I road 20 miles each day. Happy to say that I can still sit down. They fit great, super comfy, stay in place… Also, I was worried about spandex because cheap shiny black spandex gets a bit see through when it stretches, leaving not much to the imagination. This is a matte, high quality material that remains opaque, important for walking into the store after a ride. I think I will only buy these.

I bought a P.R.O. pair of shorts after a very good experience with the Elite range. I wanted to upgrade however they don’t seem to be better than what I had.
The padding is rough.. not as smooth as it should be.
They shorts are OK but they are not exceptional…
I expect more from Pearl Izumi.

Have been riding these for about 4 years and really like the fit/feel/pricing. I rode ASSOS prior for several years and like the fit on them also, but they cost near twice what the PI shorts do.
