This is the only item that I have every purchased from Amazon that I have had to send back. The sizing chart online does not match with the actual size of the product. I could not even get my hand into the glove at all. It was worse than the O.J. trial. My petite wife could not even get the gloves on.

In my book, “From Broken Neck to Broken Records, a Masters Cyclist’s Guide to Winning,” I recommend wearing no gloves during a time trial competition. Experiments some years ago in the wind tunnel at MIT showed that use of gloves increased aerodynamic drag. When those tests were done, and when I wrote the book, these Pearl Izumi Aero gloves were not available. These gloves are designed to decrease aerodynamic drag and I now use them in competition.
Apparently, the other reviewer who complains about not being able to get the gloves on, does not understand the design of these gloves. When you look at them, they are seemingly impossible to get on – sort of like a high quality, well fitting skin suit. I had that same first impression – it seemed that I would not be able to even get my hands through the opening. They do in fact go on, and fit perfectly and are like wearing a second, smooth skin. They are not like “standard” gloves, but the sizing is in fact the same.
As an aside, PI is probably the finest manufacturer of cycling clothing. Not only is there stuff of the highest quality, they offer a 100%, no questions asked, full replacement warranty on any product that fails for any reason apart from user neglect. I happen to also recommend PI in my book in a chapter entitled, “My Favorite Cycling Products.”
If you want to be more aerodynamic in your next time trial, buy and wear these gloves.
