Park Tool CNW 2 Chainring Nut Wrench – Reviews

I would definitely wear some gloves when you use this otherwise you may hurt yourself on the chainring. Other than that, does what it claims.

Park usually makes good tools, but this one didn’t work out of the box. After doing some clipping work w/ wire snips on the tool, I was able to tighten my two problem bolts marginally. However, the side flanges are still too wide, and I’m able to only get one on a slot at once. This is better than a screwdriver, but only just.

After struggling to find anything that would hold the nuts when trying to remove the chainrings on my bike, I found this tool online and was pleased that the price was so reasonable. From the pictures, it looked like the perfect solution, but I was a bit disappointed to find that it didn’t really fit down in the slots of the nuts very well. It still worked better than anything I tried from my toolbox, but being from a reputable company like Park Tool, I expected it to work perfectly. My chainrings are just standard Shimano stuff, so it should have worked fine. I’m going to file a couple edges and then it should work great. It just seems like it should have worked great without any modification.
