NiteRider Cherry Bomb Taillight – Reviews
I have had this light a month or so. So far it has been a great light. It clipped on to the back strap on my helmet easily, and is very bright and easy to use. Worth every penny I spent to stay visible on the road. I use it on my helmet while riding my Segway.

Yes, it is bright but:
After a season of switching it off/on daily, the switch on mine has become unreliable. It takes 3-5 tries to get the mode I want. The switch is also recessed so that you can’t easily push it with anything but your pinky fingernail, so gloves have to come off, etc. I don’t see why they did this.
My wife’s light popped apart and smashed when she hit a pothole. I now tape the red part to the black part with clear tape each time I change the batteries.
The belt clip is not to be trusted. (I have yet to see a belt clip that holds tight.) The seatpost mount is fine. I put a screw through the whole thing so I can semi-securely leave the light on the bike when it’s parked in the city.
IMPORTANT:
Adjust the angle of your light with care. The bright LED projects a narrow flattened cone of light, and you want to be sure it’s aimed at eye level of the drivers you want to be seen by.

We wear this walking our dogs at night. It is easy to clip onto clothes or comes with a bike attachment. Also, the switch is readily accessible to turn on. Best thing is that it uses reg. batteries so there is no great cost when replacing them. The light is bright so it does its job well. Very happy with this product.

This is more of a comparison of the Cherrybomb and the Radbot 1000 than just a review of the Cherrybomb – I purchased the Cherrybomb, then decided that the Radbot was a better light for me.
I originally purchased the Cherrybomb because it advertised a reflective insert, and I thought that would be a good backup in case the battery died. However, it’s barely reflective. I compared it to a Radbot 1000 (which has a very good reflector) and a Planet Bike Superflash (which doesn’t advertise any reflector insert), and the Cherrybomb had virtually no reflective ability – very close to the Superflash.
I attached a photo to the product description comparing the three.
However, the Cherrybomb does have a very good beam pattern – the collimating lens does a good job of spreading out the beam horizontally. I estimated around 40 degrees of dispersion for the Cherrybomb versus around 30 degrees for the Radbot 1000. See attached pics showing beam pattern on wall, as well as a comparison of the 3
