I bought this trainer for my son. The package arrived with two of the roller bolts poking out of both the inner box and the outer box. They did not appear damaged, but when opened on his birthday, one of the two rollers with exposed bolts did not spin properly. He really needed the trainer, so we did not return it. It is unfortunate that we cannot work with Amazon to have a replacement roller sent, and the Amazon option that allows you to comment on packaging will not allow comments on this item.

I did a lot of research with different brands and types of rollers to purchase. I eventually decided on the Minoura because from my experience I know they make some pretty quality equipment. I also own a Minoura Japan GavityStand2 which I would give 5 stars for as well. I purchased this roller set used for a reasonable price of $150. What really sold me on this was it’s ability to fold up. Note: it does not fold flush when the front roller is at last two measurements, but it works well enough to drastically cut down on storage space and create ease in mobility. Be sure to measure from front to rear axle on your bike to be sure it fits. I own a 61′ frame and it fits on it so I think most everyone will have no problems with that. Indeed make sure you start either in a doorway or next to the couch. It really doesn’t take too long to learn how to ride it. Assembly is easy enough, just follow the directions included in the box. I can’t comment on how long the band or the rollers last because I have only gotten a couple hundred miles on them.
The rollers really help to create a smoother cadence and you will quickly learn whether or not you are wasting energy else ware on the bike. When on this trainer it is all saddle time. So that is a plus and a minus. There isn’t much coast time on these so there is little time to stand off the saddle to get blood flow. So not only to the cardio endurance you gain from the bike you also improve your saddle endurance. Hands down I would buy this again.

First time with an kind of indoor bike trainer and these are a great deal. Its really not that hard to get the hang of after about 10-15 minutes. Just set them up in between a door way and you cant fall.

Easy to assemble. They are relatively quiet and I bet even more quiet if you use some bike lube on the bolts.

Just laid them right on the carpet and they were fine. I will probably use a yoga mat or something underneath next time because residue from the tires got onto the carpet.
