Kryptonite Keeper 12 LS Bicycle U-Lock with Bracket Bicycle U-Lock (4-Inch x 11.5-Inch) 4-Inch x 11.5-Inch ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. I bought this about 6 months ago, when I moved to Seattle. It has held up to rain, snow, drops, and everything else. Capitol Hill is known for bike theft, and this has lasted. The long reach is great since I usually ride with friends and we can share the lock. However, I’m using this on my 1971 Nishiki that works great, but isn’t a great attraction for thieves. I plan to build a nice $1500+ bike this summer and to keep it secure in Seattle, I will most likely invest in a Kryptonite Fahgettaboutit. Bottom line: If you have a pretty bike, this will not keep it safe. The long reach makes it much easier to break. But if you have a bit of a clunker, then the price is right and I recommend this lock. Note: after 4 months, the key system feels like it grinds the key a bit and needs to be wiggled sometimes to get the key in properly. The lock is good. The method of bracket will NOT let you attach it to bike frame because the bracket is on the WRONG end of the U-lock. Do NOT buy. The lock was a perfect length for my bike. I was able to lock my front wheel and frame easily to bike racks. The actual key slot worked fine for me as some previous reviews warned of irritation when turning the key. Minus one star because the lock holder thing in the pic didnt fit my bike Pros: -This is a long U-Lock. Meaning that it helps to attach your bike to a slim tree/fence that is a little bit further away. Cons: -This is a long U-lock. Fitting it into your bicycle frame might cause you problems — especially if you have bottle cages mounted. As a bottom line, I suggest you go for the slightly more expensive “Kryptonite Kryptolok Series 2 Standard Bicycle U-Lock (4-inch x 9-inch) with 4-Foot Flex Cable”. Its mounting bracket is not perfect either, but it’s adjustable and thus compatible with almost any frame.

But its because my bike has a squared off frame versus round bars. Would have been cool to have it, but its no biggie.
