I destroyed my previous holder so I bought this one but I encountered one problem. The hex screw by the silver brackets strips easily. Luckily I still have the old one. But still, it is a good product.

It took me a while to figure out how this bracket is supposed to be mounted, mostly due to the poor instructions included. Also, it is very difficult to force the ridged plastic band through the designated slot. But once I got it set up and realized that you’re supposed to tighten it up using the adjustment screw and not the strap itself, it worked fine. That is, until it failed, just like others have warned, and for me it happened after about a month of daily use. That ridged plastic band just broke apart between its ridges, while I was riding. Now my question is, how often does this happen? I’m gonna try another one, and if it breaks similarly, I think I’ll give up on it.

My nephew broke my old bracket when he crashed my scooter. It just snapped! Very hard, brittle plastic. I found that Kryptonite has a warranty and will replace your bracket free if you send in the broken one. It takes about 3 weeks though.

When I got it, I found the strap nearly impossible to insert into the hole! I was able to get one notch in, but only while holding both parts in my hands off the scooter. My dad had to push really really hard to get more notches in, also with the tightening screw off and the strap off the scooter. Careful not to push too far, otherwise you cannot slide the other end of the strap back into
