After 2&1/2 years and nearly 2,000 miles – it was time for new rubber. My original tires on a 2008 Raleigh hybrid were neither these 700x40C tires or the Kenda K192 Kourier Tire 700×35 Black Steel. Mine were 700x38C Kenda Kouriers. And after those 2&1/2 years, only ONE flat tire. I ordered these because they stated “Kourier k-shield” with “puncture resistant casing underneath the tread area that consists of aramid and ceramic particles within a green elastomer”.
On my old tires, one could definitely see a built-in inner liner of a different color (orange with bits of green flecks). I can see NO built in liner on the new tires. I hope it’s there – just can’t tell for sure.
Hopefully, these will give me the same service as the old tires. Putting the old 700x38C tires next to these 700x40C tires, I can not see any difference in either height or width with the naked eye. Look the same to me. I wanted to stick with this same tread design for two reasons – longevity and good wet road traction.

I have had these tires on my bike for a year plus. I’ve never had a problem with these tires, and I practically live on my bike. Constant use. No flats, always reliable, and they give a smooth ride. Definitely worth their slightly extra weight for the puncture resistant feature. keep your tires pumped to the recommended PSI and you will be happy you have these tires.
