This helmet is top notch! it surpasses all the others I’ve went through. It was delivered ahead of schedule too!
Conspicuous Consumer
Unfortunately, I got a chance to experience how well this helmet can protect you, only 1 month after buying one. Took a spill @ approx 20mph on a slick surface and slammed my head solidly on the street. I felt the impact, but not as badly as you would expect. The Styrofoam inside did its job and ‘cracked’ in several places around the impact area. Not a scratch on my head (the rest of my body not so lucky). It is very light and the fit is excellent; though the circulation doesn’t feel much different than my $40 Giro Gila from about 8 years ago. The price is the only minus for this product, thus 4 not 5.

Never skip on the head gear! If you can afford this one, then go for it. It is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. I keep my hair in a ponytail while riding so that is not a problem. The air vents on this helmet are fantastic, it looks good, and it gives me a more safe feeling while wearing it. This helmet is so light that you hardly know you are wearing it. I will replace it immediately with another if something should happen to this one.

I crashed a couple of weeks ago and hit the asphalt head on. The Giro helmet did crack on four points but indeed saved my life. I was taken to a hospital. I was doing some 25-30 M/H on a steep downhill that ended on a sharp right turn. The road was wet but there was also some oil or diesel that made me slip and thus crash on my right side and rebound 180? to the left. Conclusion: my Giro helmet is the most important item in my gear. I will buy exactly the same one.
