The bike rack works well. Make sure to find a beam behind the sheetrock to install as it will simply fall off the wall if the top rack is not securely tightened into the wall.

I was pleased with the sturdiness and overall construction of hanger but problem came with type of bike I have. My bike is a hybrid. A cross between a street and mountain bike. Even though it has an aluminum frame. It still has some wt. I could not hang the bike off the floor as instructed which is fine since I was only looking for space in my room. I live in an apt. with plaster walls (another problem). Get good wall anchors (don’t use what is included) and be careful how thick the plaster when hanging on outside wall (before you go through plaster to brick wall). I also found getting my tire into hanger difficult once vertical. So if you have a bike like the picture (i.e. a light racing bike) great. But if a serious one. Be warned. May not work as advertised.

It doesn’t withstand the weight of an average mountain bike. It’s a bike rack designed only for very light ones. Unfortunately, they not warn you before you buy your product.

For the negative reviews from people with mountain bikes: A lot of mountain bikes will range from 35-60lbs – which is probably not the target market for this bike rack. This rack is meant to hold 40lbs or less – it is after all attached to your wall with 2 screws (stud or brick).

As for comfort bikes, beach cruisers, and especially road bikes – this rack is just fine. Took me less than 5 minutes to have it on the wall and the bike hanging. I have attached 2 photos of the rack in action. Suitable and convenient. Its light weight and the 2-screw attachment is low impact damage to the wall, easily patchable upon removal. The addition of the tire tray for the bottom/rear tire is great, can be attached via the double sided tape that comes on the back of it, or with 2 screws.

If you are looking to hang a heavy bike you might want to check out some other products.
