I rec’d this mirror from Amazon and right off the bat, the mirror had scratches in the center of the mirror (where you’d look most). Off-center, the mirror had a flaw in it that left a distortion in what you saw in the mirror. This made it unacceptable for use.
The plug is rubber and the mirror body has a ball-end that presses into the rubber plug (like a ball and socket). When pressed into the handlebar, the socket gets tightened up on the ball to hold it in place. This doesn’t appear to be a very secure way to hold it and I would presume a big pot-hole hit would knock it out of your set position.
I’ll keep looking for a good mirror.

This mirror performed well for about 5 months of daily use, but then the glass popped out and now it is completely useless.

Put it on my wifes and my Trek road bikes. Wobbled so much, even on a newly paved bump free bike trail it was useless. Got a great view of the road even after multiple adjustment;there seemed to be no way to tighten the mirrors, as they simply popped into the handlebar end. What little you could see from the view was distorted anyway. Ended up returning them. Got a Third Eye helmet mirror from my local dealer and am happy with that, it stays in place and gives a distortion free view.

I cannot recommend this mirror. After about a month, the joint loosened and the mirror constantly vibrated down. Very annoying. I tried another mirror just like it, and the same thing happened. Look elsewhere. This mirror does not stay put as advertised.
