I had the ghost ring to one of my bags and at some point the buckle of metal that opens did just that. Only opened to one side in any way allow that all ghost ring separation. I do not see was gone until later. And it was only later when I wanted to attach a bottle of water to find anything to attach it. so I never got a chance to see if it worked or not.
