Blackburn Voyager 3.3 Bicycle Headlight – Reviews
I have read the other reviews and just don’t understand how they can have these problems. I have this light on my road bike and the screw down clamp works absolutely perfectly. I have never had it come loose, never lost the light over bumps, and it stays bright like forever. After more than 500 miles, half that at night, I have only had to change the batteries once.
Now I do have a cam clamp light on my other road bike, and it is always coming loose. I ride down the road and after 20 minutes I am having to pull it up a little to see where I’m going. I hate those cam clamps. I’m going to get another of these Blackburn’s to replace the more expensive cam clamp light I bought.
Update May 2011, I decided to buy another light, a CygoLite Milion 200 LED Rechargeable. (you can see my review on that one too) I found that the Blackburn light, although bright if that is all you are used to, doesn’t shine like the Milion does, and the reason I changed was the streets I ride on are very dark, no other lights at all at times, and I couldn’t always see the pot holes etc which could be a dangerous situation if you hit one. For some applications it will be great, but I now prefer the other.

This headlight is solid and compact. It is not to bright but you can use it even when it is raining. I like it and will recommend it to anyone whom need to buy one.

A copy of an email I sent to Blackburn.
I recently purchased your Blackburn Voyager 3.3 Cycling Headlight at a local Sports Authority today and already ran into a few problems. After replacing a light from a previous company, I decided on your product, 24.99 seemed fair enough for a cool looking light that seemed to fit my purposes, as I commute to and from work, which I get off at night I need a reliable light that’ll do the job and keep me safe. So not 10 minutes after I put on the bracket and mount the light I start riding and It comes FLYING off. I stop my bike and think, okay maybe I didn’t mount it right. Sure enough all seemed fine, (you’d have to be an idiot to put it on wrong mind you) it was screwed in all the way and only moved a bit. Fast forward to about an hour ago I am riding home and it flies off again! I hit the slightest of bump, I barely even noticed it, just that the light is bouncing into incoming traffic. So I think to myself, okay this is a bad sign, then I without the aid of the mounted light I hit a HUGE pothole and blow a tire. I had to wait in the rain for a half hour for the bus since I couldn’t ride home. I am normally not one to rant and send unsolicited emails to companies but I find this pretty ridiculous that this all happened the day I bought this thing. Sure enough, I will attempt to return this thing tomorrow and get my money back I don’t feel safe or comfortable using your product.
