I’ve owned a Blackburn trainer before. It was loaned to a friend and never returned. So, it was time for another. The trainer arrived well packaged. All parts were in the box. The trainer’s parts were non-oily from manufacturing (always good for parts that do not need oil). Assembly was quick with, if I remember now, a 12mm and a 14mm wrench. There is only one bolt to tighen down. The instructions say about 25 ft-lbs, but I simply choose to tighten the bolt until there was only a little play. Enough play as not to interfere with the adjustment knob for the roller thingy. After a little setup (adjusting for level) on a couple of bikes here (w/ skewer and w/ bolt) the trainer workers flawlessly. Put the fan in front of you and your earphones on and you’ll not notice the noise.

Nice product. Works well and quiet. Only works on bikes having quick release style rear axle. No instruction manual but not really needed.

I bought this as a “lightning deal” on Black Friday. It was shipped and arrived promptly, and was well-packed. When I tried to assemble it, I noticed that the assembly instructions were missing. I located them at blackburn’s (owned by Bell, the helmet people) website. However, the written instructions, in 3 different languages, were side-by-side on a single page. My PDF reader wouldn’t allow me to print them except in a font too small to read, nor copy them to paste elsewhere. A friend with a different reader was able to cut and past them into Microsoft Word and email a 3 MB file back to me so I could print them. I now have the poor instructions, but also there is NO PACKING LIST enclosed (helpfully supplied by another user in a comment below). There’s no way to know whether anything else (beyond the instructions) is missing! I called Blackburn tech support, and was promptly answered by someone who could provide no useful information. The trainer is very quiet and has plenty of difficulty levels to make even the most avid rider able to find the right setting. Easy to set up and quiet to use. Easily watch TV without having to raise the volume. Much quieter than our Lifefitness treadmill.
