Blackburn Flea Front USB Bicycle Headlight Pink – Reviews
This is a great light for a bike – really small, 3 settings, easy to use and to take on/off your bike (velcro). I’m not sure it’s the brightest light out there for those who might be in pitch black areas, and its range isn’t hugely wide, but it will get you noticed if you’ve got the blinking strobe-light setting on. I like the portability of it – I can attach it to my key chain and use it if I need to, or mount it on the handlebars. But that portability means if you leave it on your bike it could easily get stolen.
The USB charger option is fantastic!! Who knew? But it blinks while it’s charging, so if you’re in public, like I was at a cafe once, it’s annoying to anyone who can see your computer. So charge at home on a less visible port. Way cool feature though. No more annoying batteries! Also, color options better than others.
UPDATE (Fall 2010): I still love this light, but it does not seem to hold its charge as well as it did originally. Don’t think it’s a defect but maybe cle

A cute idea, but executed amateurishly. Did Blackburn ever test the Flea before marketing it? Charging on a USB port took only a few minutes before the lights flashed brightly, supposedly a signal that the unit is fully charged. Yet, in flashing mode, the light stayed on less than 10 minutes – a far cry from the supposed 5 hours! (I have turned off the demo mode, so that is not the cause.) Finally, after less than 2 weeks attempted use, the switch has stopped to function reliably. It is possible that I have a defective unit, but Blackburn has not bothered to reply to two emails – perhaps a tacit admission that the problems is widespread.

I purchased my Blackburn Flea last Fall. Since then, I have used it for both night-time and day-time inclement weather commuting. My favorite features: small size, small price, light weight, ease of mounting & unmounting, multiple light modes and especially the USB recharge feature. It is very easy to move to different bikes, bright for its size and holds a charge well. Best of all I don’t have to buy any more batteries! I am purchasing a Flea light front/rear combo and another front light for my wife.

Very small, very bright, charges easily. Overall, a great light if the goal is to be seen (as opposed to seeing), as in urban settings.
