  This bike trainer is no cheap piece of equipment. It is well built and looks like it will last. It is very noisy on knobby tires. I changed my tires to some slicks and the noise was down drastically. Set up was very easy. Just unfold and you are done. This is my first bike trainer so I cannot really compare to other expensive trainers out there. No regrets on this purchase.

  This trainer is great. I have a basic trek mountain fat tire bike and it fits perfectly on the trainer. I was all ready to buy a real spinning cycle but decided to try this instead mostly due to space in my studio apt.I love spinning and I was having a hard time justifying two bikes in my small apt. I will address some of the points made by other posters:

  The noise factor: yes,noisy but not THAT bad. I use to have a treadmill and that was noisy as well. If I spin during odd hours, I use the IPOD. Otherwise I blare my stereo. You can get the music loud enough to drown the noise out. I never got complaints from any neighbors when I had the treadmill. Its only 30-45 minutes anyway. If you are doing more than that, its not necessary anyway (speaking as a certified trainer).I suppose you could purchase the road tire to eliminate noise, but I just don’t think its worth it. Also, If I want to take a quick ride outside, I would have to change my tire. Changing a tire for this trainer is not

  This trainer is sturdy and straight-forward to setup. I suggest that you use the supplied axle/skewer if you don’t want to visually damage the one on your bike. My axle had a black anodized aluminum lever that would soon be scratched up in the cast aluminum LH side axle holder. The RH side axle holder tends to “munch up” the plastic cap that covers the axle nut — the 4 plastic ribs on my cap will eventually get smashed flat when adjsting the RH axle holder in. Note that these comments may apply to any trainer, not just the model being rated.

  The trainer’s frame rigidity could be better, but maybe I just tend to over-tighten the adjusters. The more you tighten the adjusters, the more the frame is spread apart as it clamps the axle in the bike. This is somewhat minimized when the supplied axle/skewer is used since there is no piece of plastic on the nut side to compress.

  First off, I’m a full-time dad (not an everyday biker)with a new born under six months. Any kind of cardio exercise on my own time right now away from home is practically impossible. So I bought this based on two motives: inexpensive and practical.

  I believe the price speaks for itself. Right out of the box, this trainer is practically ready to go. Just had to tighten two bolts on the trainer to my bike’s rear axle and that was it.

  The ride is actually very smooth and the noise factor for my budget is bearable. The construction of the trainer feels sturdy and well built. I would be surprised if I didn’t get a hundred or more hours out of this.

  Also want to say, very impressed with Amazon’s delivery service. Ordered my trainer yesterday with next day delivery service and within 24 hours it was at my doorstep just as promised.

I just installed this trainer a couple of days ago and am enjoying it tremendously. I also got a front wheel block ($13) for simulated climbing and downhill situations. To assess my performance, I ordered a rear wheel cycling computer for about $50 with shipping. I’ve been watching epicRIDES Acadia and Vermont that I rented for $2 each from YouTube on a 30 inch monitor for a complete training experience. I just recently discovered their training guides that instruct you how to pace yourself for beginning, intermediate, and advanced cyclists. Overall, I’m very pleased with this product and look forward to hours of cycling when it is rainy, dark, crowded, or just want a short break on my indoor trainer watching some great videos.

I purchased the F2 MAG Trainer by Forza to work off a few pounds I picked up over the holidays. I use the thing every day, and it works great. Sets up easy, works with my extremely old bicycle and doesn’t take up too much room in my basement. And the best part…it’s cheaper than a lot of the other trainers.

I am by no means a biker. I bought this so I could sit inside and exercise without having to ride on the roads around other bikers and cars. It came very quickly and after struggling a little bit to put it together I read some other reviews and figured out to put the “L Bolt” on first. The resistance is pretty good, but I have nothing else to compare it to. I am very happy with this, especially for the price. No way was I going to pay what some other trainers cost. I would certainly recommend this trainer.

this was a pain in the u know what the cable was alot harder to fit on the handle bars and just didnt feel right when the bike was on there

The handle broke the first time we tried to tighten it. You also have to have a special kind of axel on your bike, which it doesn’t mention when you look at the product. It has to be a quick release type. The booklet eludes that there is a front brace for your tire, but there wasn’t one included. I sent mine back, disappointed.

All in all you get what you paid for. The trainer is rather simple to set up, but the instructions are tiny and they skipped a step with how to loosen the wing nut without cracking the surrounding plastic. I specifically bought this model to use with my decommissioned road bike, that was limited in gears and does not have a quick release back tire. The trainer’s resistance shifter is not fluid and hard hard to change. Even so, you can barely tell the difference between the lowest and highest gear. The shifter has a really long cable, that doesn’t come with any straps to help keep the loose slack from getting in your way. I took at look at what it would entail to use the quick release skewer instead of my current fixed one, and decided that it was not worth the hassle. It worked well enough as is, but due to the lack of significant resistance options, I ended up switching over to my hybrid bicycle, with several gears and a quick release skewer. When pedaling, I thought the transition from one side to the other would be a lot smoother and more akin to riding a bicycle on a smooth flat surface. But the transition is choppier, more like an exercise bike, where you alternate leaning more on one side than the other, contributing to the overall wobble of the entire bike unit. The slight wobble is there despite having the bike set up on carpet and placing a wooden board with a towel on top, under the front wheel. I feel like this is different than riding on the road, where the entire bike can move side to side with your shifting body weight as a single unit. Since the back wheel is clamped in with the trainer, I have concerns about the sideways forces adding isolated strain to various calibrated parts of the bike that shouldn’t get this much pressure, which will eventually result in noticeable premature wear and tear. It would have been nice to include a front wheel block to help keep the front wheel straight and elevate it, so you don’t feel like you are leaning forward and going down hill the whole time. Lastly, there is considerably more noise than I was expecting when pedaling hard on high resistance. You can mitigate this some, by adjusting how hard you clamp down the trainer to your back wheel, but that does limit the upper range of your work out. I personally prefer the ladder / step resistance work outs where you spend at least a minute or two at 90-100% effort levels.
