Essential.
This blinky is permanently clipped to my backpack for evening riding (you can either use the clip to attatch it to a belt/pocket/bag/etc, or connect it to a seatpost/other tube using the provided adapter).
It’s cheap enough to replace when it inevitably breaks (my girlfriend and i have gone through one each; mine was shattered when it fell off of my belt and run over by a car; hers started “eating” batteries), but will easily hold up for a year otherwise.
Bright enough to be seen for over a handfull of (Philadelphia) city blocks. I use blink mode when it’s really late, steady mode in the evening.
Great price, great quality, clips to clothes/belts/etc or locks to seatposts if you prefer.
One star deduction due to one eating batteries, but appears to have been a fluke; we have three others that have been going strong for over a year since with no problems.

I found this on the street after it came off somebody’s bike. It has flown off my bike once, luckily I heard it hit. Use some rubber bands or stretchy tape to help secure it to seat bag loop.

Not as sophisticated as the super flash models, but not bad at much less cost. Less likely to get stolen too. But, if you want the best get a super flash.

All tail lights should be tested and alignment checked before leaving the house. Alignment is critical and sloppy installation can degrade performance of lights by 90%.

I like to take evening bike rides, and this light keeps me safer. Its very bright and comes with 2 light settings. Its somewhat hard to get it open so that you can put the batteries inside. I recommend using a quarter to slowly pry it open.

My wife and I do a lot of nighttime walking, usually in areas without sidewalks. We each use a Blinky 3, and are reasonably confident that vehicles approaching from any direction see us in plenty of time to avoid an accident. It has a build-in clip you can use to attach the device to clothing. Although the clip doesn’t attach to clothing as securely as we would like, it works. As an alternative you can always run a cord though the ring, and wear the device around your neck like a pendant (which is what we now do).

The best light for the money. I have two on the rear of my Trek Navi 2.0 – nobody could miss these lights when coming up from behind. Be safe, be seen!!!

I do a lot of cycling – about 5000 miles a year. A lot of that is at night because I do a lot of very long rides that take more than 12 hours to complete. I may be a little paranoid, but I really don’t want to get hit by a car so my tail light is a critical piece of equipment. Whenever I see a cyclist with a really great tail light I ask them who made it and where they got it. Last November I saw my first cyclist with this tail light and I was so impressed I had to get one. Up until now my best tail light has been an eclipse which I still use as a backup. I would rather have a Dinotte but they’re way too expensive for me.

So what’s good about this light? Well it’s very bright and has two 0.5 Watt LEDs which is the same total brightness as some headlights and this is better than one 1 Watt LED because you can have more flash patterns which is very important. This light is amazingly bright and the three different patterns are just perfect. It’s easily visible in broad daylight and impossible to miss at night.

I ride to work and work second shift. I have to ride home at night time.
My other tail Light I lost because it fell off on a bumpy dirt trail.

I have been using for a couple of weeks. I can say without reservation that this is the besttail light I have used. Quit goofing around with the $5 5-LED lights that fall apart in a week and can’t be seen and get this light. The flash on this unit can easily be seen a mile away. If you would rather have a bright solid light it has that feature as well. If you are mounting this on your rear rack get the rack adapter kit as it will make for a sturdy and easy install. If you ride at night you owe it to youself to get one of these.

This is the brightest tail light I have seen out there. I have one on my wife’s bike and I am pleased with the blinking flashing cadence of it and find it truly a blindingly bright light. From a distance it looks like and emergency vehicle light. Safest one I can recommend. If you want to be seen on the road, look no further. Good price on Amazon. I paid 34.00 at a bike shop.

FIRST IMPRESSION IS GOOD BUT WE WON’T HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY TEST THE LIGHT UNTIL WE GET OUT OF SNOW COUNTRY IN MARCH. A NEGATIVE IS IF YOU HAVE A REAR BIKE CARRIER THAT BENDS UP NEAR THE SEAT, THE THREE BOTTOM OF THE SEVEN LIGHTS WILL BE BLOCKED FROM VIEW FROM THE REAR. I WASN’T ABLE TO MOUNT IT HIGH ENOUGH ON THE SEAT RISER TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. IN SPITE OF THIS, THE LIGHT IS STILL VERY BRIGHT FROM BOTH THE REAR AND THE SIDE.
IT IS EASY (BUT NOT OBVIOUS) TO TURN ON AND OFF AND EASY TO REMOVE FOR STORAGE WHEN NOT NEEDED.

Light is OK, but it is difficult to turn it on because it doesn’t have a switch. Instead you have to push hard on the bottom of the light in just the right place.
