I recently bought a single speed beach cruiser that came with a larger than normal seat of its own. Though it is far better than the prostate exam type that comes with most street models with all the gears and whistles, it still was not up to the quality of this seat that I took a chance on after reading the excellent reviews here from other buyers. This seat at 10 1/2 inches square is as good as they come when comfort and joy is more of a consideration to the rider than how fast or stylish one is getting there. There are many choices for seats such as this on Amazon. I opted for this one for it appeared to have a little better padding and design, as well as came with free shipping. Fortunately I can declare with great pleasure and a non irritated butt that my money was very well spent. Someone here said that they were afraid of looking like a dork riding around on a big fat seat while seeing all the more fashionably minded passing by on bikes that could be found in Playboy like

As most of us develop an exercise program we develop a schedule calling for more and better in our program. Riding a bicycle is no different from any other exercise program…. except for the comfort of the bicycle seat. The cloud 9 makes it possible to do more and better with the utmost in comfort. You have to buy this seat if you are serious at all about your bicycle exercise program OR if you just want the most comfortable ride possible.

I never could go more than 20 miles before cloud 9, the pain was too intense. Now I can ride 5 extra miles just for fun!

The seat is easy to install. I ride from 10 to 20 miles a day on my bike mainly for exercise. I am not sore after riding like I was on the narrow seat that came on my bike. It is not as soft as I thought it would be, but it does not become uncomfortable after a long ride. All in all I am pleased with the saddle and would buy another if the need arose. It is well constructed and does not look cheap. I use it on the Mongoose Blackcomb. It does not hurt when I ride over large bumps or holes in the trail. I am 60 and my butt appreciates the seat.

I started riding again after several years being off the bike. My previous seat was a slimmer gell seat but even with that I got pretty sore after 20 miles. The Cloud 9 was more comfortable after the same ride. It takes a little getting used to if your use to a narrow seat but I’m happy I got it.

Well, I get pain DURING spinning but not after. There are comfier, more gel filled seats out there. This seat does its job: when I get off the spin bike, I don’t ache for days. That’s what I wanted, and that’s what I got!

This product works great and is essential if you own a hard seat. When placed in use, I immediately noticed a difference in bike riding comfort; I use this product inconjunction with Canari Cycling Gel Liner Shorts, purchased from fogdog.com through Amazon. I own a Mongoose mountain bike and product was true to form and fit well. As directions state, be sure to wrap/tie excess draw strings underneath the seat. Do not get use to the logo on the seat cover, for after using the seat twice the logo was rubbed off by friction. Overall a good product, moderately priced, that is hard to find for Mongoose bikes. I would recommend to a friend or purchase again if needed.

I purchased this seat cover because reviews said the “Confidence Fitness Space Saving X-Bike” had a hard seat that needed a cushion. About six different seat covers were displayed as additional items that could be ordered with the X-Bike. The one I picked, Mongoose Gel Bicycle Cover, is made for a narrow racing seat. I made it fit by pulling and pulling but it is not right for the wide seat of the X-Bike. Amazon.com gave the false impression that this is a suitable cushion for this X-Bike. It is not.

I am a grown woman, and I am so excited I can finally ride my bike again without painful seat experiences! I don’t know why everyone doesn’t use these. I’ve had it for 5 years now, and it is still in perfect condition. I’m not an avid biker, more into weekly recreational riding, but I find I can ride for longer distances now with the gel seat. My husband even borrows it and says it does help.

Years ago I had a gel cover for my old bicycle seat and expected this would be a similar product. Instead I found this one to be not terribly cushy and kind of narrow, even for skinny ol’ me. I suspected it would be best to buy a product like this in person and I should’ve gone with that. It’s enough to get the job done but it is far from ideal.

While this cover definitely adds some extra padding for your derriere, it is meant to be used with a fairly large bike seat. Since most larger bike seats also include padding, this cover seems pretty extraneous to me. My small, narrow, unpadded seat became something of a hazard when I added this cover to it, because it was then small, narrow, padded, and slippery! The cover slid around on the seat and my biking pants slid around on the silky cover. I returned the product to Amazon after a few rides with continuing saddle sores, and I’ve now invested in a new, larger, padded seat–for almost the same price as this cover.

All this being said, if you already own a wide bike seat that could use a little extra something then this might be your solution.

I bought this pad to use in my spin classes and I am very satisfied! There is still minimal pressure on my bottom, but it’s not enough to cause discomfort or pain. I must mention that I am a novice and am still figuring out the settings on the bike that work best for me. I’m sure it will go away after time. The pad is not as thick as it looks in the picture, but it feels good and I am not sore or in any pain whatsoever! I used it for the first time yesterday and I feel fine. Now I am able to concentrate on the instructor and not the pain in a**! I forgot to mention that I have a nice voluptuous a** so you can trust what my opinion. Without the cushion, the seat was unbearable.

This is about the best product I have experienced as far as bicycle seat comfort goes, but I can only compare it to what came on the bike (ugh) and the Bell GelTech Ultimate Comfort Bicycle Seat, which was only slightly better than the factory installed seat and not very well made. This one is much better, but don’t think it will give you the level of comfort you get on your comfy sofa at home (you are on a bicycle, after all), because you will be disappointed. However, considering you are indeed bouncing along on a bike and the area where you place your derrière has to be reasonably proportioned, this Schwinn Pillow Top is a good choice. You can definitely feel some cushion and it seems to be well made. I have only taken one fairly long ride on it and when I got off the bike that particular area of my physique still knew full well I had been on a bike for a while, but I did experience a noticeable improvement comfort-wise as compared to prior trips of similar duration. This isn’t as large as a cruiser saddle and it is more comfortable.
It is no bigger than the Brooks springer models; however, this Schwinn is lighter and easier. The Schwinn has no hard edges and it actually helps circulation rather than what usually happens with a larger saddle.
What a nice difference!
As for mine, I caused it to support a performance riding posture (headfirst–road style) by removing the tiny screws from the front, drilling 3 large holes underneath at the front, fishing some foam out of the “horn” through those holes underneath to soften the “underneath” contact area.
The slight extra weight of this saddle was certainly worth its facilitation for comfy distance. It is about half the weight of other saddles this size. That’s size 4 (small cruiser, large mountain). It won’t “friction” your legs too much.
For a road bike (if Terry Cite X isn’t enough) just go ahead and use it (adaptation to soften the “horn” described above). Sure, this looks different

I bought this seat based on all the positive reviews so I was very excited to get it. But once I did…. well it’s just not right for me. I have adjusted it many times, trying different positions, but it’s just not right. I was so surprised by this that I went back and checked my order to be sure I ordered the right seat. Yes, I had ordered the one I intended, but upon my review of the other people’s remarks, I noticed that many of those who left high praise are built “different” from me. I admit, I’ve got a skinny butt. And I think this seat is designed and better suited to people who need more realestate in a saddle. I think the padding is put in the wrong location for people like me.

So my recommendation is, if you have a skinny butt, you’ll probably want to pass on this seat.

I realize other people gave this item great reviews, but I believe they are incorrect. First of all it is NOT a pillow-top, NOT soft at all. The material they used on the seat is like a thick rubber tube, NOT like the picture shows. The picture looks like it would be a nice soft fabric, this is NOT the case. As far as comfort goes, my stock seat is better than this one (specialized comfort seat). Maybe the other reviewers weighed less than I do. I weigh 200 lbs and found this seat to be very hard, stiff and it became very hot in just 15 minutes of riding. it did not protect the sensitive area of my body (men know this area) and it began to hurt very quickly. I would NOT recommend this seat to anyone who weighs more than 175lbs. I returned this seat and purchased a Cloud 9 instead, which is far superior seat. I hope this review helps someone that is really looking for a comfort seat.

I use this on my Schwinn 112 upright exercise bike. It took me a while to figure this out: 1) It has to be angled down slightly (I actually figured this part out right away), 2) The seat has to be slid all the way back, and 3) . . . I think this made the most difference . . . I had the seat height on 8, and always felt like I was sliding down. I lowered the seat height to 7, and that seemed better, but a little too low. I drilled an extra hole so the height could be between 7 and 8 (7.5), and now it’s just right (I drilled a hole in the wrong place the first time. It has to be drilled lower than what you think. I don’t notice any weakening of the seat support bar with two extra holes in it.).

I live a mile and a half from my office and I have occasionally gotten on my bike and rode it to work. The trouble is that I always felt sore all day even though the ride is not very far. This made me not want to do this very often. I’m at the point in my life where I really need to get some exercise and figured that riding to work would be ideal and would even save some gas money. After searching online for a new bike seat, I settled on this one, based on the other reviews. From first hand experience, I can tell you that this seat has made all the difference in the world. It is very padded and broad and does not have the pointy part that can make a man, shall we say, uncomfortable. I now ride to work often and never have the soreness problem. The seat takes a little getting used to, but once you get over the slight feeling of leaning forward, it is fine. I highly recommend this bike seat. A good product at a good price.
