Bicycle Pedals – Reviews
I had used mountain bike clipless pedals in the past, but this was my first pair of road pedals. I decided to stick with Shimano as I had liked their mountain bike pedals in the past. These are great pedals that are easy to install (I recommend getting some good grease and a pedal wrench). Their surface is big and easy to get into. Still, when you miss a click, navigating the other side of the pedal can be kind of tricky. A 2.5 mm allen wrench is all it takes to adjust the tension, and the float (the side-to-side play) is pretty comfortable. You can even get cleats that prevent any float. If you’ve never owned or used clipless pedals, these are great solutions. You’ll never miss the awkward sensation of trying to get your sneaker into a toe clip.

Outstanding value. Received the silver version as shown in the picture. No problems and although I am a novice, the wear on the cleat doesn’t seem out of the ordinary.

i ordered it as “SILVER” and received BLACK ones
i called them and they said they didn’t have silver ones and couldn’t even order them from Shimano
the pedal itself is decent. the bearings aren’t as nice as i would like – you can’t spin it freely around the axle – there is some friction, but not so much as to make a difference in your speed. it makes a difference for clipping in though as it affects how the pedal balances under its own weight, so that is a shortcoming of this pedal.
also this pedal is made in malaysia. higher end Shimano pedals are made in Japan. the clip mechanism is plastic and i have to wonder if malaysian plastic will be as durable as Japanese plastic. i been riding for only about a week and my cleat shows some signs of wear, but that’s ok because the cleats are replaceable of course. the plastic part on the pedal seems to be holding up so far, still, in a perfect world i would have preferred it made out of metal – however i don’t think any other pedals have that part in metal.
the COLOR is the main problem with these. after one week i already have scratched some of the black paint off to reveal the aluminum underneath. so basically my 1 – week old pedals already look old. this is precisely why i wanted silver colored ones.
i guess you’re wondering why i give it 4 stars and not say 2 stars. well that’s because they cost about HALF of Ultegra pedals which are otherwise almost identical. for the money this pedal is worth it.

Bicycle Pedals – Reviews
Double entry facilitates this pedal especially clip in. Open design sheds mud easily. If you’re not a mountain cyclist and you are looking for an affordable in clip pedal that is well designed, then look no further.

These are quite light and require as little attention as you can imagine. The retention mechanism is easily adjustable. Simplicity SPD!

In the short time I have had these pedals only have used them a couple of times (due to inclement weather). The few times that I’ve used I have noticed them a huge difference in the amount of effort that must be exercised while pedaling. Antes_de get in the pros and cons, a couple of things to know: 1.) who have not ridden my bike in 3 months of winter (rain, snow, cold, etc.); (2.) I have a 3700 TREK, and as such, I have bought these pedals with the intention of using them on the road; (3.) wear shoes of Pearl Izumi X-Alp Enduro; (4.) have bought these pedals now for whatever he could get used to the feeling of them prior to driving the paths in the spring/summer; (5.) Routinely amount with other users of motorcycles.
It is out of the way, here is my opinion:
(1.) Compared to what I’ve seen with road bike pedals, the learning curve for the input and output in these pedals is much lower; I learned the method clip-in/clip output very quickly
(2) Adjustable tension is a great advantage. I have my pedals on the lowest setting up I used to use them. He has not decided if it will be to increase or not
(3.) Even with the tension on the lowest setting, my feet feels as if they were securely in place while pedaling (up and down strokes);
(4.) The pedals are enough broad that if I am not cut in for whatever reason, I can still pedal; Although without much power, but you will get in the way if they are crossing the street after being arrested (red light, signal stop, traffic, etc.).
(5.) The pedals are expensive double ticket which is very convenient
(It was very easy to install these 6 pedals.)
(7.) Pedals have really made a big difference in how much time I can ride before exhaustion begins to establish.
(Price 8.) It is hard to beat, especially with a set of clips included.
(9.) I have read that they say these pedals are heavier than the M540s, etc….Well, they are heavier that the pedals actions that came with the bike, but I do not believe that the weight is such that they will make a difference to the average driver
Everything I’ve been happy with my purchase. Along the way, the pedals have been useful in the implementation of the people I ride with the use of road bikes. I did research for approximately a month before that I bought these pedals. And many people really like them, as does. I will try to update this review when I start to trail riding once again, but that it is months… so until then, I will continue using them on the road.

These are clips of OK, but it is 50-50 on whether you are clip in the first shot. And when you do not clip in this first attempt and have to go faster now… can be pain in the groin. These clips of plastics, jewelry in 2500 km (at the bottom of foot) and require another purchase of $20. I like most all Shimano makes, but it is not your best effort.

These are Shimano standard that wear and the ancient unbolt and replace them with these. The only problem is the screws that hold them in. They come with short screws and mine needed a screw… I think that they come with 8 mm bolts and need a 10 mm for my Sidi shoes. Finally found some out of a bicycle shop in the (Jensen)-$ 4 screws for $4 for shipping… Or if you are a true sport can get $10 titanium bolts! My old nails were held with a collection of hardware from various sources… screws must be tightened from time to time. But enough about screws…

I bought the theme through Amazon after research prices online and through bike shops. Price was right. Article was received at time and in good condition. I am a very satisfied customer.
NonfictionWell, they work and carry quite well. They have done a few triathlons and a Duathlon with these and they have held up pretty well. If you buy Shimano pedals, do you have any choice? Anyway, are good staples and it can take some heavy duty.

Bicycle Pedals – Reviews
Looked at many types of pedals that were double platform. When initially looking this pedal throough amazon… He was sure in the quality of the hand grip first not clip. Found the same pedal on a bicycle shop, but it was about $35 for all. The order and had the pedal set in my hand in less than a week. (Note: All parts come with pedals.) (Clearly not contained if supplied) Initially I tried it on my bike path in my city. Adjustments to the tension were fairly easy. Still I have not found any drift in the tension over time. I was pleased for my first direct trip. Easy entry and exit. The part clipless has very good grip. I would like to buy these again and recommend to any first time clip in corridors. It will probably buy another set soon for my mountain bike.

I’ve put some 500 miles on these now without problems. The dual-use pedal is great for a bike commuter and the SPD clip is soft and leave. Sometimes it’s annoying to find the right side of the pedal but a pedal with clips on both sides and platforms would be much heavier. The flat side is not as irregular as a traditional platform and can be slippery when wet. It is the only disadvantage of design which I have given account so far. The floor is also a bit small but this saves weight. For these reasons not to use the flat (slippers) by mountain trails; No. Once again, a large displacement / pedal of the city; I am very happy with them.

I had a problem with the clips in all too easily in highly technical ascents in my MTB. These pedals solved the problem by providing a side without clips and a great platform clipless on the other side to place the foot. They solved my problem perfectly! If you don’t want to be trimmed at all times while mountain biking (either because you are riding super slow technical ascents or keep a foot unclipped still has the security of a great platform for rapid descents) these pedals are for you.

Bicycle Pedals – Reviews
I am new to road biking as I transition to triathlons and on a budget so these pedals were looking to be the best deal out there. I ‘ve been riding mountain bikes for the last 12 years and know shimano makes great pedals but of course there are tons of other clip in types out there and everyone has there own option. This type of pedal has lots of versions and you can spend a small fortune on the high end models that have supersonic bearings and are made from moon rocks
, but if you want a solid pedal that works well and doesnt break the bank, I would say buy these now! They are a great, don’t fall into the road biking money pit which seems to follow the snooty road bike class

First of all, for $43 plus tax this is pretty unbeatable value. I bought a Motobecane bike on-line as it represented good value and after completing several hundred miles with the free SPD pedals and cleats, I wanted a larger platform from which to pedal from.
The R540′s have not disappointed, very easy to clip in and out of, no need to look down constantly unlike my old SPD pedals. The pedals have a nice large platform and can also be used with normal shoes.
I knock off one star for the cleats provided. I do not want fixed cleats as they will batter your knees but the floating ones included have too much lateral play for my liking. A cleat in between their current floating and fixed designs would be ideal.
Nonfiction
I started cycling just a little over two years ago and over time I have progressed from platform pedals, to toe clips, and now to clip in pedals. I can say right from the start that I really like the feeling of being connected to the pedals on the upstroke and being able to power most of the way through the cycle. I could really hear the difference when I first put the pedals on the bike I use in my magnetic trainer. No matter how hard I tried to be smooth with platform pedals there was a definite pulsing in my pedal stroke. That seems to be greatly diminished with the use of these pedals telling me my pedal stroke is much smoother.
Having gotten used to these pedals while on a trainer and having used toe clips, I haven’t had the misfortune of the sideways fall from forgetting to unclip…. yet, but in a sudden situation I can see it happening. In real life application they are very good and keep you feeling connected to the bike.
The only fault I could find with these pedals is their balance. When you unclip a foot to stop at a stop sign or traffic light the pedal takes an almost vertical nose up position making it a bit difficult to clip back in. The clips have no grip of their own so if you misalign them you have hard plastic shoe clip on the metal pedal surface and the strong likelihood that your foot will slip off trying to get started before you can get clipped in. If you are going to use these anyplace where you may have to frequently unclip it may be a good idea to pay a few extra dollars for pedals that balance level. Or maybe learn to do a strong one pedal acceleration and then clip in.
