Bicycle Helmets – Reviews
I bought this to replace my aging helmet and was very happy when I got it. The helmet has a nice adjustable headband (the ratcheting style) and includes extra padding to make it fit like you like. It is very light and the quality seems high. I have done a few rides this spring and been very pleased – a sign of a good helmet for me is when I get home and don’t really remember having worn the helmet. And for the price – I think this is a great value.

i like the helmet nice shape and all. my only problem is that it says universal fit on the web site. then when you get it home the paper work says universal fit between 2 sizes. for products like these Amazon should start posting a like to read the users manual, so that we do not have to rely on the company advertisement to see if the product is what we are looking for.

I love this helmet. I actually bought another Indicator almost 3 years ago when I started out riding, and last Fall I was commuting daily to my University about 3 miles away.
First off, the fit feels good. It’s snug, the snap-clip underneath your chin isn’t scratchy or bothersome, and the ratchet in back holds well (and isn’t cheap, like the Bell versions – just look at the two).
The design provides some excellent airflow. A good sign for me was, when I still had short hair, I’d show up with a miniature “3-hawk” that had to be combed or watered down.
More than that, this thing took a beating for me. A mother in a Ford Explorer cut me off one day in heavy traffic while I was going about 30 MPH. With less than 50′ between the Explorer and myself, I hauled on the brakes, endo’d, rolled on the pavement, under the Explorer (she had stopped it by then), and then a trip to the Emergency room.
My left wrist hurt like hell where I had braced myself against her car, I tore the anterior ligam

First, the review published 2 months ago by Joel Seguin is totally right on the money regarding the y-straps. The design is not only uncomfortable but distracting and therefore could be dangerous. The helmet that I received is also not particularly well made: it’s functional (I can put it on and buckle it close)but the quality is definitely on the minimum standard level. The Styrofoam while intact has a lot of deep scratch-like indentations and appears to have been peeled of the mold in a haphazard manner w/ numerous thin flaps sticking out. It came w/ 4 extra stick-on pads w/ totally useless double-sided adhesive: you can barely peel it off and once I did get it to peel off it didn’t stay glued to the helmet and fell after a couple of fittings, the adhesives are left on the interior of the helmet waiting for hair and scalp. Also there should be something to cover the holes after one chooses to remove the visor, as they are left irregularly shaped. Sorry but this helmet is just a notch

Bicycle Helmets – Reviews
This helmet replaces my old Bell helmet, which was about 5 years old. I thought I liked my old helmet, but then I got this one. It is way more comfortable than the old one, not as hot, fits my head better, and it’s even a bright, adorable, shiny pink! What more could you want?

I’ve worn helmets for skateboarding in the past and I didn’t think that this helmet would look so huge on my head. I bought a medium sized matte black helmet and when I received it, wow, totally huge. I went to a Sports Authority store to see the same helmets there (at a higher overhead price) to see if a small made a difference. This helmet is just flat out huge by default. When I wore it the first time around while riding my bike, my girlfriend thought I was going to Iraq to fight the war because she thought I had a military helmet on (lol). It was quite cumbersome to wear while riding my road bike. I didn’t know if it was more of a hazard than a safety component to my regiment for riding bikes. I returned the item. Definitely not for me. I would probably focus on buying a helmet that doesn’t make you turn into a pumpkin head. The photos of this helmet are quite misleading.

I bought the “Matte White Plaid” helmet in Large. I measured my head before ordering and used their size chart to decide which size I needed. I used my dad’s Amazon Prime to get free 2-day shipping, which made this an awesome deal considering the helmet itself was only $31. I ordered it Saturday and received it today (Tuesday). The quality is great and it fits perfectly. It also comes with extra foam padding in case I need to make any adjustments. The strap is soft against my face and it looks good. The BELL stickers can be removed if you want to have a blank helmet or want to add your own stickers. I haven’t used it enough to determine the ventilation quality, but 12 ventilation holes, so I assume it will be fine. I’m really happy with this helmet – after doing a lot of research for the best option for rollerblading and biking, I’m glad I went with this particular product.

When I was riding Motorcycles many years ago and rode about twenty years or about 200,000 mile, I was using a Bell Helmet. You are trusting your life to what you are wearing. When I though I want to get a bicycle to partly relive my motorcycle days and partly for local transportation, I got a Bell bicycle helmet again. As usual the quality is very good. The color is molded in the plastic and you can adjust the liner inside the helmet with spare pad that come with it. The only thing I didn’t like is the fact that Amazon dose not carry this type of helmet in a large white (I got a plane black one). Once you get the helmet adjusted to fit you head, you hardly know you are wearing it.

Giro Atmos Road/Racing Bike Helmet
Bicycle Helmets – Features
The Giro Atmos Road and Racing helmet provides legendary performance, style and comfort – and features the new Roc Loc 5 fit system. After more than ten years of refinement, this ground-breaking fit system provides an entirely unique use experience with an unmatched level of comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. With Roc Loc 5, you can easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand. Just twist the dial for a tighter feel on tough terrain, then back it off a notch and relax across the flats or a warm climb. Even with these remarkable features, Roc Loc 5 is still 40-percent lighter than its popular predecessor, Roc Loc 4. Roc Loc 5 systems is: 1) Micro Dial. The heart of the Roc Loc 5 is this ratcheting, micro-adjusting dial. A simple, two-finger twist of the Micro Dial opens or closes the retention system and each click is audible. 2) Three-Position Vertical Fit – It’s never been easier to change vertical positions and fine-tune fit. We incorporated a three-position bracket that features 15-millimeters of precise up/down movement. Like the Micro Dial, this system can be adjusted without removing the helmet. 3) Carefully crafted ergonomic arms are shaped to be as comfortable as possible, yet work flawlessly with Giro eyewear (what we call Super Fit engineering). 4) Dual Pods – These two panels are designed to firmly grasp the back of your head while comfortably cradling the occipital lobe. Strap management – with Roc Loc 5, your helmet straps are woven through the fit system, so they are always in the perfect position. Complex Internal Design – Dozens of small parts work together seamlessly to provide exceptionally user-friendly adjustment. Minimal and Light, yet Strong – Although this fit system is 40% lighter than its predecessor, it’s much stronger. In testing, Roc Loc 5 performs flawlessly, even after 6,600 cycles (equivalent to 3 years of riding with 3 round trips per day).
Wind Tunnel Ventilation – 26 huge vents with fully optimized channeling
Roll Cage technology
Internal webbing attachment
In-mold Composite Reinforcement
