I really like this bar tape. Nice soft feel to it without bulk. I would definitely recommend this product.

On the pro. side, this product has a very nice feel and appearance.

On the con. side, this product is very difficult and unforgiving to install which renders the product not worth buying. There is not enough tape on a roll to generously wrap a bar, only the bare bones. And if you wind up will too little and attempt to go back, you will end up tearing and distroying the underlying layer (unless you don’t use the adhesive).

All in all this product is not worth buying unless you have a simple and small bar, for instance, a bullhorn fixie bar.

I really like this bar tape (the regular one, not soft touch). It’s smooth like cloth but not slippery, and it looks great. Installation was simple and easy, and it is easy to put a lot of tension in the tape without ripping it; much better in terms of this than cork tape, which I have to be more careful with.

However, this tape does basically nothing for padding. The thing is, I like this, so I’m not going to penalize fizik for that. I came from riding with shellac-ed cotton tape, which has about the same amount of padding. If you like lots of padding, then I would probably not use fizik tape unless you buy the gel inserts for underneath the tape. Otherwise, I like the lack of padding and thinner tape – my hands and arms are fine.

Can’t say much about replacement, though – I don’t intend on replacing it.

I’ve been installing bar tape for over 25 years and I’ve never had the tape tear before. This tape (Fizik) tears very easily. I would not recommend this product.

Stuff is cushioned and sticky backed. Good stuff. Definitely worth the money. I see no advantage to paying more money for cork bar tape.

This was just what I was looking for – an affordable new tape. Cork is comfortable and and easy to install, even after messing up once on my brake line and having to unwrap and start over. It came with two silver plastic end caps so I didn’t have to reuse the ones I took off.

I used this on an old 70′s French racing bike (10 speed) (5 gears in back 2 in front) first of all it is very very soft grip tape it is very ..easy in a sense to grip its a nice surface. very soft and smooth. Overall I like it and I would recommend you buying it.

A changing World

Nice thick bar tape in a good neutral color but it has been lying around too long and has become brittle making installation very difficult. I tore the 1st roll as I wound it on to a set of bars and I am a very experienced mechanic. I could tell as soon as I opened the box that the tape had dried out so as I installed it I was very cautious but it still ripped.

Fuzzy Wuzzy

As a randonneur (long distance cycling) enthusiast, I’m constantly looking to add comfort to my bike. Fizik Bar Gel is simply awesome. Unlike some other brands you can cut and trim the gel as necessary. Along with dampening road vibration, it feels extremely comfortable on the hands.

I’m a road bike enthusiast, usually putting on about 1,500 miles a summer. I first found out about this product because I normally double-wrapped my handlebars. I have large hands, so extra diameter is useful to me, and my neck and shoulders aren’t as flexible as they used to be, so I can use the extra comfort.

This stuff adds a lot of shock absorption, great if you do day-long rides or tours. I have ridden across Iowa four times, and I was a lot less sore at the end of the day due to this product. If you’re a cyclist who likes comfort, this is a simple, inexpensive upgrade you owe it to yourself to buy.

The downside? Well, you’ll probably have to buy new bar tape, since you’ll have to re-wrap your handlebars. That’s the only one. But hey, now you have an excuse to get that tape with the skull-and-crossbones pattern you told your wife you wanted…

LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THESE BARS, EXCEPT THAT THE KNURLING ON THE BAR WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE NECK IS ALMOST ALL SMOOTH. BEST BE READY TO CRANK DOWN ON THE SCREWS TO KEEP IT FROM MOVING BACK AND FORTH. THINKING ABOUT DRILLING A HOLE THROUGH THE NECK BRACKET AND BARS AND PUT A STAINLESS SELF TAPING SET SCREW IN TO HOLD THE POSITION.

Put it on my wife’s bike and it works fine. Makes bike riding more comfortable. I have no problems with this product.

This handlebar arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I installed it on a Fuji Absolute 3.0. Had to replace the cables. Made a mistake and got 4 brake cables, which worked fine for the brakes but would not work with the grip shift. Oh well, two more cables. These bars put me in a very comfortable riding position and I can see better with less neck strain. My other components are matte black but these are glossy black. I’m still happy with them. The rise is apparent in the photo, but what you cannot see is the bars angle back a bit after the rise so that your pinky finger is a bit closer to your shoulder than your pointer finger. A very natural position and I am pleased they were made that way.
