I researched 4 different types of products – the rear trailer, like the Burley Solo, the rear child seat like the Pilot, that installs on top of a carrier attached to the rear bicycle wheel, and the front seat that installs on top of the handle bar – and finally this one, which installs in between the handle bar and the main saddle. I must say, this product is the best compromise of all the alternatives. I ruled out the handle bar-perched seat because it just seemed really unsafe and unstable. It also looked very uncomfortable. i also ruled out the trailer because it was too expensive for my budget (the good ones like Burley) and storage would be a problem in our 850 sq. ft. condo. Between the rear child seat and the wee ride, the wee ride offered more safety (low center of gravity), and the chance to interact with your child all the time. Great product and extremely easy to install. Actually, I was so excited to take my 18 month old son for a ride, we put it together as soon as it came in the mail. He absolutely loves it and did not want to get off the bike. The seat seems very safe, sturdy and secure. The fact that its more in the middle of the bike helps with balance and control… it really wasn’t any different than riding by myself. A+

This seat was easy to install and has worked very well. The harness is comfortable as the buckle system is well-designed for a seated child. We did find the platform/head rest interesting but removed it when the edges of the platform came to close to the handlebars, leading to a situation which could pinch a child’s hand quite significantly. Test out turning the handlebar without the child seated to look for this potentiality.

I couldn’t find this product in local stores so couldn’t imagine how it looks like or fits on a bike. But the reviews here did help me make a decision and I ordered it from amazon.com. Note that this product includes the mounting bar. I found the guide could have had better pictures to make it easier for install but since the assembly itself wasn’t that complicated I was able to install the mounting bar and the seat with ease. I was amazed how easy it is to mount and unmount the seat from the mounting bar. Also you will really have to see how small the seat actually is. For a better feel, just go the weeride’s site to see pictures and video. I have a 26″ Mens’ NEXT PowerX Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike and had my own suspicions bcos of the rear suspension but it fitted well and my first day experience was great. My 18 month old enjoyed the ride. The only thing to mention on the negative side is that you will have to pedal with feet a bit farther apart than normal but it wasn’t that bi

I love the design, and my 11 month old absolutely loves riding around in the seat. its great bonding time and we can share what we see. i feel very steady and safe with the seat on. only complaint: at 5’1″ and with a small women’s bike, the kangaroo seat takes up the entire length of the bar in front of me, forcing me to peddle with my knees at a funny angle. this is fine for leisurely rides through the park, but not suitable for hills or rides of any substantial length. i’m glad i purchased it, but will probably have to invest in either a rear seat or a trailer if i want to go for longer rides.

I was very disappointed to find that this seat does not fit on either my wife’s or my bicycle. Both are fairly standard off-the-bike-store-rack models. The company’s misleading advertising states it fits virtually any bike. What it should say is that you must have at least 3/4″-1″ of head tube extending above the top tube so that the front mounting clamp will fit without interfering with the headset bearings (steering mechanism.) My trek mountain bike has essentially no such space. My wife’s Giant city/trail bike had a little more space due to the sloping “ladies” top tube, but the clamp still did not fit. Had I known this, I would not have wasted the shipping fees, and gotten a seat that fits.

I wanted so badly to LOVE this product. It’s okay for short runs, it gets the job done. However, it was pretty uncomfortable for me. I’m 5’4″ and my daughter’s helmet hit me square in the chest, she had to lean forward. (she’s only 15mo old and also petite!). Plus, I had to bike with my legs splayed/knees pointing out. Just plain akward..
I have to second the other reviewer who commented negatively on the seat belt system. It’s not a very easy in/out set up and the straps slipped off my petite daughter’s shoulders. The ride must’ve been comfortable for her though, she’d even fall asleep w/ her head on the pad!!
We did get lots of comments on how unique/great idea the seat was. I truly wanted this product to work out, it just didn’t cut it and we broke down and bought a pull behind bike trailer.

Well engineered product. I had some questions before the purchase and the manufacturer was quick to reply via email. I use it on a 26″ beach cruiser and have no problems with my knees hitting the child seat. My daughter and I love it!

My husband had this seat installed in about 20 minutes, start to finish. The standard rear mount took him at least an hour. There were differences in the bike frame, but this one seemed much easier to install overall. Our son is very tall for his age (35″ at 20 months) but he fit just fine. He loves holding onto the handlebars and pretending to steer. It was far more interactive for me – I could see what he was looking at and pointing out. This also contributed to increased safety – instead of feeling and then reacting to changes in balance, I could proactively anticipate balance changes simply by watching where he was looking. Getting him in and out was easier than the rear mount – just reach down while straddling the bike. The shipment arrived quickly and the company is very customer-oriented. Excellent product! Highly recommend it.

This seat is a wonderful alternative to the traditional pull behind or ride behind child carriers(we have both). My husband loves riding around the neighborhood with our 1 year old daughter on display, and of course she is beyond thrilled to ride up front with Daddy. That being said, I am a small person and this seat does not work for me. I am 5’3″ and cannot even get on my bike with this seat in place. However, I believe that it is a worthy investment for our family in the Daddy/Daughter department…the smiles beaming from their faces says it all.
BTW:When we want to do serious road or trail biking vs. neighborhood biking we use our pull behind child carrier.

We bought the iBert seat after checking out all of the reviews. It is a great product–well designed and executed, but with one flaw that I haven’t seen addressed. Look closely at the picture and notice how little space there is between the back of the iBert and the front of the bike seat. If you are accustomed to straddling the bike before taking off or after stopping, forget it. We ended up purchasing a funky curved seat post that moved the seat back a few inches just to get more clearance. It works fine, but added to the cost of the whole set up.

The Ibert Safe-T-Seat is an outstanding product. The mounting design is simple and looks to mount on pretty much any bike. This is the best design I could find for my dual suspension mountain bike. The rear mounts are not an option. It’s great to have my child in front of me and interactive on our rides. If your looking for a great childrens’ bike seat, look no further than Ibert, you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this child seat after a using a similar seat on a vacation in Belgium and my son has really loved it. Riding in this seat is one of his favorite activities and he constantly points toward the bike whenever we pass it in the garage. This is easily some of the best money that we’ve ever spent on a child product as it allows me to exercise while giving my son enjoyment at the same time. I initially thought a trailer would be best but then saw how much he enjoyed the behind the saddle seat in Belgium and changed my mind. We now have a rack on two bikes and can easily transfer the seat to either bike. I can’t speak for the shock system since I’ve never actually ridden in the seat. My only small complaint is that the padding on the seat does not stay in place very well but this mainly due to the fact that it must come off in order to adjust straps as your child grows. My son started riding in this at 9 months and I’m hoping that he can continue using it until he’s at least 3. If y

I bought this exact Topeak child seat at a local Bicycle Shop. The instructions left MUCH to be desired, in my opinion, as far as step-by-step instructions go. It did not require many tools but, buyer beware: you HAVE to have a bike that has the extra built in mounting holes under the seat adjuster! I did not know this when I purchased this seat, and my bike didn’t have that extra mounting area under the seat and it made it MUCH harder to attatch in that area. However, with the help of my great neighbor, it is now installed on my bike and I really like it! My 30+lb. 2yr old daughter LOVES it, and seems very comfortable in it! The padding is great and along with the springs is one of the main reasons I bought this one. Others don’t have as good/much padding for the child, and I found her saying “owe” while using other child seats when going over a curb. Aside from the instructions I give this seat a thumbs up!!!!

Nice child seat bike. Took about an hour to assemble if you have all the right tools at your disposal. My little ones love it so just get it. You can take it off when you are riding it with without a child so you don’t look so strange.
