Economical? Yes. A great rack bag? Far from it, but may do the job for you. Unlike the Toploader 3 Rack Bag 890ci the main compartment does not have a plastic liner to catch ice melting into water. So, if you do need to carry ice along, store it in a leak-proof plastic Zip-Lock bag or something. It’s is insulated, but the bottom is removeable – thus allowing melting ice to leak everywhere.

The side mini-panniers do not hold as much as the SunLite model either. And has no bungee cords to pull down & attach to your rack. Theoretically, with a light load in the side mini-panniers, they could flap against the spokes of your rear wheel. The top compartment is not expandable – so you are limited there as to how much it will hold.

The small rear compartment though is about twice as big as the SunLite model. Just like the SunLite model, there’s a place to clip a rear light on for after-dark riding. The Velcro loops on the side are a nice touch to store a mini-frame pump. All-in

I found this bag to be quite satisfactory in terms of overall design, construction and price. It’s a convenient solution if you need an in-between amount of capacity, more than a saddle pack but less than panniers.

The only drawback I have found is that it completely obscures a tail light that is mounted in the usual position on the seat post. Given this obvious fact, it would have been good to have some way of attaching the light to the bag itself.

Aside from that detail, it’s a nice product.

This bag is great. Strapped right to my rack no problems. Plenty of storage for a large u-lock, cable lock, repair kit, tubes, keys, wallet, etc.

Love the fold down panniers. Easy to strap and unstrap. . .

I was happily surprised by this trunk bag, insulated compartment keeps drinks cold, enough room in other pockets for bike tools etc.
