I’ve had this on my bike for over a month now and its been great. I can buy a couple days of groceries and get them home with ease.

In our time of high gas prices riding your bicycle is becoming the vehicle of choice for running local errands as well as communiting to work. The Avenir Metro III is very functional for carrying packages and items purchased on the errands. I used it once for a 25 mile commute to work, and it carried my computer, change of clothes and lunch box.

A little information about myself. I am a non-traditional college student who lives college off my military/VA retirement, GI-Bill, and the good-will of my girlfriend. Essentially what this boils down to is that I don’t have the money to be spending on the astronomically high California gas prices; I bike to school and to study.
These bags have proven themselves to be a perfect fit for my needs of carrying books, groceries, my laptop, and whatever I could probably need. I would also add that for this price you will be hard-pressed to find a better deal and more cubic inches. Get’em and you’ll be happy.

The only shortcoming it had was that there was no support for the compartments. It could use a stiff plastic bottom for the trunk part and stiff backing for the panniers. If the bike leaned to the side, the pannier on the uppermost side tended to sag into the wheel.
The pack is exceptionally roomy. I carried a lot in mine. In the trunk I had my 35mm SLR camera in its case, a large bag of trail mix, a large bottle of water (1 liter), a bottle of gatorade, and my 6 foot bicycle cable and lock. The left side pannier had a 6x8x3 watertight box, large can of bug repellent, my can of body spray, large stick of deodorant, a thick paperback novel, and another bottle of gatorade. The left side pouch held a roll of T
