I bought this rack for a move from Los Angeles to Oregon–held solidly on the highway all the way. For the price range this is pretty high quality–no cheapo components or flimsy parts. I keep it in the trunk now and can pop it on and off in about five minutes–the system is simple and you can be confident that the rack is well in place.
A few extra things you should pick up: Bungee cords to secure the lower frame to the rack and to secure the front wheel to the frame–otherwise the bike will swing. A few old socks to cover your pedal so it doesn’t scratch your bumper. About $2 and this thing’s perfect.
Again: Very highly recommended. Bike on!

After becoming frustrated with bicycle racks that did not fit over my car’s spoiler (Olds Alero), I searched the internet and decided to try this one. To my surprise, this rack fit! I have just enough room to get the rack over the spoiler while not angling my bike out too much. My spoiler sits about 3 inches above the trunk so if you have a spoiler any bigger, this rack may not work for you. The rack is heavy duty, has nice padding, and folds up easily for storage. I was impressed by the holding power of this rack also. I have put it to the test multiple times by driving on the highway at 70 mph. There has been absolutely no sliding or swaying of my bike or the rack during my trips. The only downside to this product is that the bottom part of the rack presses against my license plate and blocks the letters. This wouldn’t be a big deal in states where you have two car tags, but we only use back plates here so I have to figure out a way to properly display my tag while driving with this rack. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase.

This Allen rack works nice on our Honda and the Chrysler Town and Country. Installs quickly and protects the cars painted surfaces nicely. With two bikes on it it moves around a small amount while driving and I think if you could add two more straps, it would be more secure, but I dont worry that the rack is going to fall off the car. The straps to lock down the bikes dont lock, so I would not leave my bike unattended on the rack. It folds down flat when not in use and that makes it easy to keep in your trunk or hanging on the wall. I’m sure there are more sturdy racks with more options, but this one works for our price range, and of course Amazon gave the best price.
